Introducing: AzTek Native Ltd.

This post has been in the works for a while, but I just haven’t had a suitable platform to share it on! Now I have this lovely new WordPress site up and running so I’m formally announcing my entrance to the world of freelancing.

Since I began my career in IT (back in 2005), I have pretty much been always been in full-time employment; working with some great people at some interesting companies. However, as of March 2014, I began taking on freelance work, which required me to register myself as a business:

The name “AzTek Native”, derives from my choice of online ID/handle “Azrael808” (a decision that dates back almost as far as I can remember – sometime before university anyway!), and my love of all things tech related. I’ve been intrigued by how computers and programs work since I was able to grasp the concept of a computer, which was probably around the time my parents bought their Spectrum. Growing up alongside the advancements in consumer and enterprise tech makes me truly feel like a “digital native“, which is where the “Native” part of the company name stems from.

If you’re wondering what’s happened to my old blog, I have migrated all the content to this new platform, moving any posts that fall squarely into the “hobby” category into their own section: tinkerings. I’ll still be writing posts around PC hardware and gaming, but it’ll be sectioned off. On the main page of the site will be posts that relate to the work I do on a day-to-day basis. These will hopefully also help to drive prospective clients my way.

Now that introduction’s out of the way, I hope that readers will consider AzTek Native Ltd. for future Sysadmin/DevOps projects; please head over to the “about” page to find out how to get in touch.
